Present and future sea level rise at the intersection of race and poverty in the Carolinas: A geospatial analysis

Sea level rise (SLR) has and will continue to impact coastal communities in the coming decades. Segregated and financially poor communities are currently impacted by SLR. SLR evaluated at 0, 2, and 4-feet for segregation, poverty, and segregation+poverty. Low-income, Black communities are already experiencing greater inland flooding. Residential segregation and poverty intersect to amplify coastal vulnerability to SLR.
