Chapter 10 - Children exposed to ACE: The trauma and its aftermath

This chapter reviews the trauma that is intertwined in adverse childhood experiences, and its effects, during childhood and afterwards. Those effects range from household dysfunction which negatively influences children and raises their stress level, through physiological, neurobiological, and neurological effects it has on the child, and consequent psychopathology leading to suicidality in some cases.
