Nuclear power plant projects are much more complicated due to strict regulatory framework and safety requirements implemented during planning, design, construction, commissioning, operation, and decommissioning. In this chapter we give a brief and high level overview of nuclear project planning and feasibility study considerations with cost of electricity analysis, focusing then on major steps in design and construction. Then, we outline major ideas on plant operation and life extension, revealing the modern challenges of nuclear power plant decommissioning.
