Ecological technologies could be best defined as technologies that transform natural resources into anthropocentric goods and services, while returning beneficial materials or energy to the ecosystem and minimizing pollution. Ecological technologies may provide for the needs of the growing human population with positive societal and ecological impacts relative to current practices, namely restoring land and reducing pollution.
