A wide range of water disasters have occurred over the years. There are a number of impending disasters that can happen. Three disasters relating to contamination from arsenic, lead, and GenX are discussed in some detail. Discussions cover why a given disaster occurred, its impact, and what lessons can be learned from it. A close review of these disasters suggests water-quality evaluations could help prevent some of the future water disasters.
