Chapter 9 - Mitigating strategies for agricultural water pollution exacerbated by climate change

This chapter discusses water pollution derived from agricultural activities under the influence of climate change. The problems that we face from changing events such as droughts, floods, heat, cold, or storms associated with climate change are discussed along with how we will interact within our communities to deal with the pollution problems this will certainly create. The chapter also considers the interaction between water pollution, soil quality, carbon sequestration, and various processes that contribute to greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and the worsening of climate change. Finally, the chapter discusses the needed mitigation strategies such as water reuse, crop and tillage changes, animal and livestock rearing, and policy needed to feed a growing population under a changing climate.
