Celebrated annually on 8 March, International Women's Day is a global day to recognize the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The theme for this International Women’s Day 2023 (IWD 2023) is “DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality." The manifestations of this can be quite variable, resulting in infertility and/or distinctive physical features such as a short stature, webbed neck, or a “shield chest”.

US government initiatives and research efforts are actively working to understand and mitigate these impacts, with the ADVANTAGE initiative playing a pivotal role in exploring these intersections. The article calls for a comprehensive understanding of "nutrition ecology" to effectively promote health and prevent disease, ultimately aiming to meet global nutrition targets.
