The study of Laguna Bacalar's paleoecology during the Late Holocene provides important insights into how regional climate changes and sea level fluctuations have shaped the vegetation and ecosystems of this region, which can inform conservation efforts and climate adaptation strategies.

This chapter aligns with SDG Goals 7, 11, and 13 by discussing the challenges and opportunities in integrating renewable energy, ensuring infrastructure resilience, addressing data privacy, and bridging the digital divide.

This study compared nutrient-based dietary patterns among U.S. Hispanic/Latino adults across two major national surveys and found that diet�disease relationships, particularly regarding diabetes and hypertension risk, varied significantly depending on the population and sampling strategy. These findings highlight the importance of considering the diversity within Hispanic/Latino communities when designing nutrition and health interventions, as one-size-fits-all approaches may not be effective.
